Meet Gary
Meet Gary Bugenhagen...Realtor®, e-PRO, CBR, Marketing & Technology Director
After graduating and being named a Football All-American for Syracuse University, playing in
the National Football League with the Bills, and Patriots, serving in the U.S. Air Force
in Vietnam and trying his hand as a stockbroker with Bache & Company, Gary decided
to start a sports related business in 1974. After a nearly 30 year success with the retail
"Sporting Foot" business a new challenge has been met in the Syracuse, New York area
real estate business.

Gary works closely with his wife Denise who has been
a top producing
Associate Broker for many years. Denise's success in
real estate
piqued Gary's interest to join her. With over 35
years experience
in sales and marketing, the business is a natural fit
for Gary. His roles
encompass all aspects of real estate: Sales,
Marketing, Technology
and assisting Denise on a regular basis
Bugenhagen says, "Yes, I was a accomplished football player, but now with 35
years of business experience behind me, I'm a Realtor...Today, I'd rather talk about real estate,
and what we can do for you."
Gary's athletic years were an important part of his life, but what is important now
is to "have people respect my current career." Gary works everyday in real estate with
Denise. "Denise is an extraordinary sales professional and I'm proud to help her in any
way I can," says Gary. Denise and Gary believe that personalized service
should be the primary focus of their real estate business.

In sports, teamwork was very important to Gary. That same teamwork is equally important in
the real estate business. r-house ERA, mortgage bankers, attorneys, title companies, inspectors,
agents and clients all have to work together as a team to have a successful process. Gary says, "the
perseverance, tenacity, and work ethic I had as a ball player has carried over into the real estate
business. Problems arise as they did in ball games. That translates into a competitive advantage
for clients. We want to do the best for our clients by giving them every advantage possible. In
football I continually studied my play book and addressed my fitness program, now as a Realtor,
I continue to hone my skills through real estate continuing education, and receiving new
designations.

As more and more consumers turn to the Internet to buy and sell homes, a new course,
e-PRO, trains real estate professionals to use the latest Web tools. Gary, recently earned
the e-PRO certification, and now uses the Internet to work with clients.
e-PRO is the official technology certification program of the National Association of
REALTORS. Conducted by San Diego-based technology company Internet Crusade, the
program instructs participants in the professional use of e-mail, the development of an
interactive Web site, and the use of on-line research tools. Graduates use the skills they've
acquired to provide clients information on properties for sale, local communities, and
the real estate market.
Gary finds that the technological expertise he's gained through e-PRO saves his clients
time and money. "Homebuyers appreciate the speed and convenience of e-mail," says
Gary. "And the pictures of properties posted on the DeniseHomes.com Web site help
them weed out properties without having to get in the car. I'm glad I can provide these
services to them."
"We want to help people with their real estate needs. The strength of our business comes
from our large database of former satisfied clients and customers that drives our referral
business," Bugenhagen says .
